Midewin

Today my photography class took a field trip to
The Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie was established in 1996
on the former Joliet Arsenal. The cool part is the Arsenal was used to manufacture and assemble  weapons of warfare During World War 2, Korean war and
during the Vietnam war.

The picture above is the doorway to a bunker
where they stored ammunition waiting to be shipped out.
All the old buildings are still standing. Rusted and weathered but
standing none the less.  A photographers paradise.

  1. There's something about a rusty door that always makes a good photo.
