Any chance I get

While we were out camping this weekend with friends.
They had their daughter drop by with their beautiful
18 month old Granddaughter.
Once I cleared it with her parents I started snapping away.

Hello Moon

THANKS to Marisa I was able to get this Moon Shot.

Check out yesterdays post where she left a wonderful tutorial
in the comment section.  Its not to late to give it a try
the moon should be pretty full tomorrow night too.

Thank you so very much Marisa

I needed more power.....

I bought an extender for my 70 200mm lens
it kicks it out to 400mm. Only problem is
you loose 2 full stops... so it took my 2.8 to a 5.6 lens.
I only had time to play with it for a few minutes tonight,
so the jury is still out.
Does anyone already have an extender that could give me some tips.

Pretty in Pink

I had a picture already taken today
that I thought I would use for my picture of the day.
(Pretty daisy in the kitchen window with natural back lighting)
But when I grabbed this totally candid shot with my cell phone.
Of my son painting his daughters nails.
That pretty daisy in the window couldn't compare!

Ouchie Ouchie

After falling on the sidewalk, it took
not one but TWO Hello Kitty bandaids
to make it all better.
(you may have to really Zoom in to see the wound )

Midewin

Today my photography class took a field trip to
The Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie was established in 1996
on the former Joliet Arsenal. The cool part is the Arsenal was used to manufacture and assemble  weapons of warfare During World War 2, Korean war and
during the Vietnam war.

The picture above is the doorway to a bunker
where they stored ammunition waiting to be shipped out.
All the old buildings are still standing. Rusted and weathered but
standing none the less.  A photographers paradise.

The best part of waking up.

My sister was in for the weekend.
My favorite part of her visits are always
the mornings we spend out on the porch with our coffee.
Laughing, talking and figuring things out.
